Mission & Priorities

Our Mission Statement

CF exists to declare and display the truth and beauty of the Gospel for the glory of God and the joy of all people.

Our Priorities

Treasuring Gospel Doctrine (1 Cor. 15:3-4; Col. 3:16)
What is Gospel Doctrine? It’s the theological truths concerning God’s redemptive plan in Jesus.

Nurturing Gospel Culture (1 John 1:7; Rom. 15:7; James 5:16)
What is Gospel Culture? It’s the beauty of the gospel creating relational beauty in a church.

Sharing Gospel Hope (Romans 10:14-15; 1 Peter 2:12; Matt. 5:13-16)
What is Gospel Hope? It’s the saving, renewing power of Jesus shared with the world in word and deed.

Our Understanding of the Gospel

The Gospel is the good news of what God has done in Jesus to redeem His people and restore the world. God’s relationship with humanity was fractured, and his good creation was put out of joint when humanity rebelled against His loving rule. God’s eternal Son became a man and lived a life of perfect obedience to God’s holy law. Jesus went willingly to the cross to bear the just punishment for humanity's sin by dying as a perfect sacrifice in our place. He rose on the third day, proving that God accepted His sacrifice as payment for sin, and then He ascended to the Father, where He rules from heaven’s throne. Everyone who repents and trusts in the person and work of Jesus receives forgiveness, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and citizenship in His forever kingdom. One day, Jesus will return to judge the world, destroy evil, and make all things new. The Church’s purpose is to glorify God by obeying His Word, making disciples, and loving our neighbor, as we wait for the restoration of all things at Christ’s second advent.
