The Wisdom of God: Seeing Jesus in the Psalms & Wisdom Books

Overview

This fall and winter, the women of Community Fellowship will study the Old Testament wisdom literature of the Bible using Nancy Guthrie’s The Wisdom of God: Seeing Jesus in the Psalms & Wisdom Books as a guide. We will study Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon with the goal of understanding it in the way that Jesus taught the disciples to read and understand the Old Testament—with him at the center. (Luke 24:27) We will see the wise principles for living, but also the wise person these books point to, helping us understand the person and work of Jesus Christ more clearly, preparing us to worship him more fully.

• Questions for personal study
• A teaching chapter that emphasizes how the passage fits into the bigger story of redemptive history
• A brief section on how the passage uniquely points to what is yet to come at the consummation of Christ’s kingdom
• And a Discussion Guide with questions for group discussion.

Our studies meet in person at Community Fellowship Monday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. or Wednesday mornings from 9:15-11:15 a.m. Limited childcare will be available on Wednesday mornings. (Childcare is FULL)
